Happy 1st Birthday Grant! I can't believe he is 1. Even though he's toddler now - he will always be my baby! He had an awesome party yesterday. Thanks to everyone that traveled to Chattanooga to share his special day.

Halloween Weekend

My sweet little Halloween baby

Layla as a devil dog

Yes- we have more pictures of Layla in her costume than Grant this year. Bad parents!

There was a full rainbow on Halloween evening. I've never seen the end of both sides of the rainbow. It was beautiful, but unfortunately no pot of gold.

Grant's first time swinging on a real swing. As you can- he LOVED it!

The Biting Butter Bean

The Boy finally has teeth! That's right- its plural. He has 2- both of his bottom teeth are in and he's not afraid to use them. They are sharp like puppy teeth. I have been unsuccessful in getting a picture. But here are some other pictures from the last month.

Still loving torturing the dog. Evidently it never gets old.

Labor Day weekend we visited the Chattanooga Choo Choo.

And last weekend Grant had his first big road trip to Ohio to visit family. He was great and even cut his second tooth while we were there. I wish I had some pictures to share but I missed out on all the photo opps.

A long over due update

This picture is deceiving so don't worry about Grant's safety- worry for the dog! We have the best dog in the world. Layla was our first baby and it did take her a little bit of time to get used to having Grant around. But she has adjusted well- just like we thought she would and takes all the abuse that Grant dishes out. In this picture she is actually licking the baby despite him pulling her hair. The dog just sits there while he grabs hair by the hand full. And it goes straight to his mouth, of course.
Look out cat- he's coming to get you next!

Our little guy is almost 9 months old and he still has no teeth. I jokingly say he has been teething since he was 5 months old and he's got nothing to show for it. I have a feeling he is going to get them all at one time.

A nice friend from my work gave Grant a walker. He likes to cruise around but his favorite is still the jumperoo.

He's not just mobile in the walker, he is also crawling. That's right the boy is on the move. While I am happy about his progress, I can't say I'm too happy about the prospect of having to super glue everything down. Luckily he can't go to far yet. He's still perfecting his hand/ leg coordination. He can also pull up all by himself. Especially when he sees something he wants. Grant is very inquisitive and inspects every object thoroughly.

Once Grant hit 7 months he really started babbling all the time. First was Mum Mum Mummm and then it was Da Da Daddy. I was surprised and thrilled to hear these words even though he probably didn't know what he was saying. Now I'm pretty sure he knows what he is saying because he looks at me. Even if he doesn't - I'll take what I can get cause they are the sweetest words I've ever heard!

Since the transition out of the Nap Nanny and into the crib we have both lost a lot of sleep. Well mainly me because Grant moved into Mom and Dads' bed. While I love the snuggle time, I didn't love the feet in my back and ribs all night long. We've been working on self soothing for putting himself to sleep. Its been a torturous time for me since I don't do well with letting him cry. Its only taking a couple of days and there has been significant improvement- Thank goodness!

And finally-I mean FINALLY- I think we are over the worst of the acid reflux.

Its been a wild ride the past couple of weeks but I'm enjoying all those opened mouthed, wet kisses. They seem to make me forget about all the rest...

Oh, one more thing- Congratulations to cousin Jessica on her new little bundle of joy, Jillian Mariah Noes.

Fish Bait

Grant loved the fish at the Aquarium.
But I think the fish loved him more!

All Better Now

Somehow we still manage to squeeze him in this tub. My knees and back are thanking me.

MMMMMM- love a clean baby. They smell so good.

Looks like these 2 are already conspiring.

We experienced our first "up all night" with a sick baby. Luckily it happened on the weekend and after a lot of cleaning up I am happy to report that we all survived. Just to be sure it was not something more serious than a Bug we visited the doctor on Sunday morning. I must say that I am surprised we went almost 8 months without an illness. Lets hope we can go another 8 months or longer!
Stats: 18.3 lbs and 27-1/2"

Ode to the Nap Nanny- Good bye Nap Nanny- we will miss you and all the sleep that you brought. Our little escape artist figured out how to get out of the restraint so its no longer safe for sleeping in. It was a sad, sad day.
